Pastor Carlos A. Rodriguez passed away after a sudden illness on March 3, 2010 at Brotman Medical Center in Culver City.
He was born on April 15, 1956 and went to school in Harlingen, TX. At the age of 13, his family moved to Santa Paula. He attended Isabel Junior High and Santa Paula High School. He graduated from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa where he majored in psychology, with a minor in theology. He then went to work for the California Youth Authority as a group supervisor and was later promoted to parole agent. He retired after 20 years of service.
In addition to his job as a parole agent, in 1988 he and his wife started a church, Iglesia Calvario, at 500 Anacapa Drive in Camarillo. Carlos pastored this church until the Lord took him home.
Pastor Carlos is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mercedes; daughter Hope, husband Bernardo, son Luis, grandson Carlitos; granddaughter Rebecca, father Rodolfo Rodriguez of Harlingen, TX; brother Ruben, (wife Audrey), brother Ricardo, (wife Stephanie).
A celebration of his life will be held at 6pm on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the United Methodist Church, 291 Anacapa Drive., Camarillo.
Burial will be at Mt. Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX.
