Kenneth James Neil, Camarillo

Kenneth James Neil passed away on March 8, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in La Mirada, California, after a lengthy illness.
Kenneth entered the United States Navy in January 1948 and retired with an Honorable Discharge as Senior Chief Petty Officer E-8 in November 1969.
While serving in the SeaBees he was awarded the National Defense Medal w/Bronze Star, VietNam Service Medal, VietNam Campaign Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Navy Occupation Medal. He served in the USN Radiological Defense Lab. He also served in Okinawa, Japan, VietNam, Kwajalein, Adak Alaska, Eleutheria Bahama Islands. He participated in nuclear testing at Bikini, Atoll and served as Electrician instructor at Naval Base Ventura County-Port Hueneme, 4 years prior to his retirement.
Kenneth was born on May 30, 1930 in Rouseville, Pa. to Mary and W. R. Neil, now deceased.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris L. Neil, daughter, Kenda Neil, sister and brother-in-law, Helen & Patrick Welch of Oil City, Pa., sister-in-law, Loyce Whitehill and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 12, 2010 in the Chapel of the Islands, Conejo Mountain Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Camarillo, CA.
