Cecilia Boyle

October 2, 1927 ~ March 10, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Cecilia “Dolly” Boyle, 89, of Newbury Park passed away peacefully at home March 10, 2017, with family by her side.

Dolly was born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 2, 1927, and raised by her Irish parents (Mary and Michael Lacey) in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, along with siblings, Frank, Sis (Mary), Jack, Edward, Eileen, Joan and Pat.

She met her future husband Johnny, at age 10.  They were playmates from the same neighborhood.  Dolly married Johnny on November 17, 1946.  They moved to Long Island in 1965 along with their six children.  Upon retirement in 1986, Dolly and Johnny relocated to Daytona Beach, FL.  They enjoyed over 10 years of retirement there, going on cruises and casino trips to Biloxi, bowling and playing cards.  Dolly loved watching Jeopardy and all sports on TV, doing crossword puzzles, playing pool, and horseshoes.

In 1997, they relocated to Newbury Park, where two of their sons still reside.  They took trips to Laughlin, Las Vegas, and the Chumash Casino.  Dolly loved having her hot tea throughout the day, starting off her day with oatmeal for breakfast, ham and tomato sandwich for lunch, and chocolate cake always!

Dolly is survived by her children, Jeanne, Eileen, Johnny and his wife Susan, Tommy and his wife Christine, and Kevin and his girlfriend Cecilia.  She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, sister Eileen Carbone, brother Jack and his wife Rina Lacey, sister Joan Salerno, sister Pat and her husband Joe Ryan, many other relatives, and “adopted son” George DiGerolamo, are all saddened by her passing.  We all love and will miss her very much.  She is preceded in death by husband Johnny, brother, Frank and his wife Frances, brother Edward, sister Mary (Sis), daughter Patricia, grandson Johnny, and 3 infant grandchildren.

Dolly’s family, wishes to thank doctors’ Dahlin and Kashyap, their respective staff, nurses, caregivers, and neighbors at Ventu Villas and Ventu Estates for their care, kindness and support.
