Esther Jeffers passed away peacefully at her home in Thousand Oaks where she had lived for over 52 years.  She accepted the reality of her declining medical condition, and courageously chose to discontinue dialysis and "take the next journey".

Esther Louise Garver was born at home on her father's birthday, which was St. Patrick's Day.  Her parents were Philip and Lola (Denzer) Garver of Strasburg, Ohio. Esther was the youngest of four daughters, and enjoyed growing up in an all-American small town in northeastern Ohio.  She was a Buckeye through and through, and very proud of her brief two years at Otterbein College.

Esther met her only true love, Marvin Jeffers, while in high school.  Their five year courtship evolved into a 61 year marriage until his death in 2013.  They had three children: Steve, Francie and Barbara, and warmly welcomed six grandchildren, Heather, Christy, Corrina, Tyler, David and Sarah.  They have one great-grandson, Emmett.

Esther enjoyed her long life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was considered a dear friend and role model to many, and had a large circle of life-long friends.  Esther was a traditional 1950's wife and mother, making the house a home and raising her children.  Her love of animals kept her in company of cats and dogs, and the special bond they shared.  She always played in a fun bridge group which she considered "her therapy", whether it was the cards of the day or the people she played with.  As the wife of an airline pilot, she had the opportunity to travel the world, make new friends, and satisfy her wanderlust and interest in other places.

Our mother will always be in our hearts, and we find comfort in that she is with Dad once again... Forever Together...

In lieu of flowers, Esther requested that donations be made to a one of the children's charities:  Shriners Hospitals for Children, Ronald McDonald's House, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
