COL Herbert Wesley Percival, M.D., age 67, passed away at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Camarillo, surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 24, 2016, after a brief illness. He was born on July 9, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to John Wesley and Claire (née Marongin) Percival. Dr. Percival completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago, and completed his graduate studies in medicine at Northwestern Medical School. Dr. Percival completed an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center. He served over twenty (20) years in the United States Army Medical Corps with a final rank of colonel. Dr. Percival helped many lives as a trusted physician and orthopedic surgeon who practiced in Ventura County for over thirty-five (35) years. Dr. Percival is survived by his beloved wife of sixteen (16) years, Jody; sons, John and Herbert (Wes); daughter Victoria; his sister, Maureen; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation for Dr. Percival will be held at 6:00 P.M. with a Rosary Vigil following at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Padre Serra Catholic Church, 5205 Upland Rd, Camarillo, CA 93012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 29, 2016, at Padre Serra Catholic Church, 5205 Upland Rd, Camarillo, CA 93012. In lieu of flowers or gifts, an Education Fund has been established for his son, Herbert Wesley Percival, at Bank of America at the Arneill and Ponderosa Branch in Camarillo.
