Hope Ellinger Donley passed away on May 24, 2017, of natural causes. Hope was born April 7, 1923 near Scotland, South Dakota to William and Marie Ellinger. She was a teacher for several years before working for the Signal Corps in Washington, D.C. as a cryptographer during World War II. After the war, she married Richard Donley in 1945 and moved to California where they raised their family. She became a real estate broker and had her own business in Woodland Hills. After retiring in 1989, she and Richard moved to Camarillo, a town she deemed, “the greatest in the world.” She lived a full life with many wonderful friends and a huge family. She was passionate about music and was a church choir member for many years. She also enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Hope was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who adored her family. Richard, her husband, and Brad Donley, her grandson, precede her in death. She leaves behind her dear family as follows: her children, Mary & Don Everhart, Dr. Richard Donley, Judge Robert & Lynn Mays, Ann Donley, Bill & Elaine Donley and Dr. Brian Donley; her grandchildren, Lt. Cdr. Stephen & Julia Donley, Gina & Brad Larson, Ted & Patricia Koopersmith, Dr. Amy & Jonas Aras, Teresa & Brian Aulestia and Michael & Heather Donley; her great-grandchildren, Ella, James, Clara, Taylor, Tanner, Mary, Anika, Will, Stevie, Tina, Matthew, Tyler, Caitlyn, Nathan, Nicholas and Sadie.
