Marina (Aceves) Limon was born on October 15, 1930 in Moyahua, Zacatecas, Mexico to Leon and Carlota Aceves. She eventually settled in Ventura County, where she was a resident for 60 years. On January 1, 2018, at 87 years of age, Marina entered into the Kingdom of God. Her last hours on Earth were spent surrounded by her family.

Marina was very passionate about her faith and community service. Active in her parish (St. Mary Magdalen Chapel), she was one of the first females to earn the title of Eucharistic Minister and was the founding member of the church hospitality group known as, “Los Guadalupanos.” She was also a proud member of the St. Mary Magdalen Church Coro. A fond memory includes her involvement in coordinating an annual event that our father founded, “Fiesta de Limon,” making sure all guests left well-fed. Equally as passionate about her culture, Marina was active in a local Mexican-American civic group in Camarillo called, “Club Civico.” Her family life was spent as a homemaker and one of her greatest joys was spending time with her family, and teaching them how to cook and sing.

Marina was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos E. Limon of 46 years; youngest son, Marco Antonio Limon; parents, Leon and Carlota Aceves; and siblings, Jose and Gilberto Aceves and Carolina Reynoso.

She is survived by her children, Alberto Limon (Bernadette), Teresa Edsall (David) and Carlos Limon Jr. (Denise); sister, Elva Ramirez; grandchildren, Katherine Wells (Chris), David Jr. and Jeffrey Edsall (Alex), Chantelle, Allyson, Carlos III, Danielle and Andrew Limon; and two great granddaughters, Evelynn and Mia Wells.

A Celebration of Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel on Ventura Blvd. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 10am with burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in her name to St. Mary Magdalen Chapel.
