Annette Lynn Nelson (Lynn) was born Annette Lynn Bercovitz, on August 12, 1941 in Los Angeles, California. Her father, Richard Bercovitz was born in 1917 in Los Angeles, California, and her mother, Helen Benson was born in 1921 in Brooklyn, New York. Her maternal grandparents, Bessie and Solomon were both born in Russia and immigrated to New York in 1910. Her fraternal grandparents, Max and Aneta were born in Romania and immigrated to the United States in 1905. She was the oldest of three children, with siblings Marsha Lorner and Jessica Margolin- Heffernan.
Lynn grew up in Inglewood, California and attended Morning Side High School. She met her husband, Leighton (Lee) when she was only fifteen years old. She was his neighbor and came knocking on his door one afternoon to sell him Girl Scout cookies. They dated for about 3 years and were married in December of 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the very same chapel Elvis Presley was married in. When they became newly wed, Lynn was 18 years old, and Lee was 21. Shortly after they were married, she worked at Hughes Aircraft as a secretary. In 1962 she had her first child, William (Bill) and in 1966 she had her second child, Noelle. In 1966, she and her family moved to Northridge, California where they continued to raise their family until 1990 when they relocated to Camarillo.
Lynn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was always concerned for others and went out of her way to help people. Even at her most recent residence, Park Vista, she was always looking out for the well being of the other residents and making sure they were okay. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and she was there to welcome both of them into this world. Her favorite color was purple and her two famous recipes were macaroni and cheese and lasagna.
When Lynn was younger, she loved to sew clothes for her family. She made Noelle dresses and Bill and Lee shirts. She loved to shop at fabric stores and look at patterns and materials for hours. She attended Pierce College and studied business/economics and sociology with Lee. She enjoyed traveling and went to Florida, Hawaii, Alaska and Europe. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Northridge and both of her children attended Lutheran school.
On the afternoon of March 29, 2018 Lynn was called home to heaven to claim her reward and join her family members and friends who have gone before her. Lynn is survived by her sisters, Marsha Lorner (husband-John) and Jessica-Margolin Heffernan; husband, Lee; son, Bill; daughter, Noelle; son-in-law, Dave; grandchildren, Emily and Alexandra.
