Though I didn't know Mr. Tanksley for long I just want to say it was an honor to know him and it was a privilege to walk his dog Clara while he lived in Santa Barbara. I only found out about his passing recently thus I'm late in responding. I will always remember his wit and his great sense of humor. He always smiled for me. Thank you.

Dad,
Thank you for being such a wonderful, kind, loving and supportive father. Although I still miss you so much, I have such beautiful memories that I can reflect on.
Love always,
Therese

Thank you for entrusting me with your father's arrangements at this delicate time in your lives. Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Tanksley, I know he was from "The Greatest Generation". He knew the value of a dollar and how to live minimally. Hard work, I'm sure, was no stranger to him. His biography paints a picture of a life well-lived and a legacy to be proud of. I'm sure you hold invaluable the many lessons he imparted on you. You are truly blessed to have had him for so long. I pray the way you've chosen to celebrate his life, and the love you shared, brings you a sense of peace.
