Christy Waters

Christy Waters passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2019. She was surrounded by her family. 

Christy was born in Brainerd, Minnesota on June 1st, 1959. Her parents are Bruce and Geraldine Bestul. She has two siblings, Coltin and Candace.  Christy moved with her family to California in the 1970s.  She married the love of her life, Michael Waters, on August 26th, 1978. Their love was inspiring, strong, and enduring.  They had two children, Valerie and Valene, and two sons-in-law, Jasen and Jamie.  Christy has two wonderful grandchildren which she loved very much, Nicholas and Alexandra. They called her "Gammy".  She has a loving extended family with many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.  Christy lived in both Northern and Southern California and made the High Desert her home for 30 years. Christy worked in special education for over 15 years. It was her calling to help her students succeed. She loved her Cottonwood Elementary Family. 

Christy always loved getting the family together and playing games and having dinner. One of her favorite things was telling "childhood stories" as her and the family gathered around the dinner table.  One of her favorite things to do was read, she had a library full of books she loved.  She also enjoyed listening to music and attending many different music concerts. One of her and her husband's favorite hobbies was to go on cruises and travel. Christy even became a certified sailing captain and sailed a sailboat along the San Diego harbor.  Christy was known for always being happy and smiling at everyone. Her laughter brought joy to our hearts.
