Daniel Christopher Cravens

Daniel Cravens, beloved son of David and Vicki Cravens, beloved brother to Julie Cravens, and beloved grandson to Wally and Linda Cravens passed into the loving arms of God in the early morning of November 17th, 2018.  Born on May 22, 1998, in San Diego, he grew up in Camarillo, California.

His life span of 20 years contained happy memories of family camping trips to Silver Lake, Idyllwild and Yosemite with an energetic little Cairn terrier named Zippy.  There were memories of father-son hikes with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts including two Philmont treks.  Raised in a musical family, Daniel showed a love for singing from a toddler’s age on up.  While at Newbury Park High School, Daniel sang in Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and Men’s Barbershop and was acknowledged with a Maestro Award in his senior year when the choir went to the Heritage Music Festival in San Francisco.  He also sang in All-State Honor Choir and the Children’s, Youth and Adult Choirs of Padre Serra Parish as well as the chamber ensemble Chorus Caritas. 

Other memories of his life included writing and telling stories.  He even won an award in the Camarillo Acorn’s “Fiction in a Nutshell Contest”.  He enjoyed composing poetry and haikus and often shared punny jokes and raucous laughter among family and friends.  After high school he attended Moorpark College where he studied “Game Design” as an outlet for his creative storytelling. 

We’ll miss the laughter, the wit, the songs, and the love, but we’ll look forward to more stories from heaven above.  Until then..peace be with you darling one..

His memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, December 1st. at Padre Serra Parish located at 5205 Upland Road, Camarillo, California.
