Edgar "Durston" Williams, age 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on October 27, 2018.
Durston was born February 9, 1924 in Arcadia, CA. He graduated from Monrovia Arcadia Duarte High School in 1941 and attended USC until he was drafted into the US Army Airforce in December 1942 where he spent two and a half years stationed in Agra, India.
In 1946, Durston joined Deardorff-Jackson Company, his family's farming business, with his stepfather W.H. Deardorff and step brother Winston Deardorff in Southern CA. Over the years, Durston worked with his two nephews, Tom Deardorff and the late Bill Deardorff for almost fifty years, until his retirement in 1994. Durston had a passion for farming and was truly a farmer at heart!
One of Durston's greatest joys was working in his garden with its many varieties of roses. After retirement, Durston enjoyed golfing, traveling to Palm Desert, and meeting up with his friends for coffee and donuts.
Durston was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye; three daughters, Joie Piper (Steve) of Moses Lake, WA, Collette Southwick (Joe) of San Diego, CA and Colleen Miller (Lee) of Corvallis, MT; two step children, Cindy Torres (Rick) of Camarillo, CA and David Geis of Camarillo, CA; and seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as his sister Barbara Peck, of Modesto, CA.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 9th, 2018 at 11:00 am at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Chapel of the Islands, 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo, CA.
