Edward R Rosas passed away on October 5, 2018 at the age of 88 years.
A native of Los Angeles he was born on August 3, 1930. He graduated from Marshall High School before attending Los Angeles City College where he earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree in history. Prior to attending college Ed proudly served in the U. S. Army. In the late 1950's he began his career in education as a teacher for Los Angeles Unified School District. Ed would eventually become an administrator and finished his academic career as a principal of East Los Angeles Skills Center, San Fernando High School and Franklin High School. He retired from LAUSD in 1990.
Ed was active in his community with politics and civic duties serving in the Kiwanis club, on the State Board of Cosmetology to name a few as well as contributing to various charities.
Ed is survived by his ex-wife Marilyn Greiner and four son's; Edward Jr.(Patty), Christopher (Rose), Matthew (Priscilla), and Michael as well as grandchildren Laura, Erica, Samantha, Maria, Christian, Amber and Madison in addition to four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ed also leaves behind long time friend Bettie Kapiloff and her family. Ed was predeceased by his parents Edward Sr. and Viola Clements and three sister's Sally, Mary 'nena' and Patty.
Ed lived for his family and friends and enjoyed sharing his passion for horse racing, Penn State football and fly-fishing with everyone who knew him. He stayed active most of his life, travelled extensively and treasured his weekly meetings with his close friends as they solved the worlds problems. A celebration of Big Ed's life will be held Monday October 15th at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home 2052 Howard Rd Camarillo, Ca.93012. Viewing at 10:00am, Service at 11:00am to be followed by burial.
