Eloise Mendoza Guerrero, wife of Antonio “Tony” Guerrero and mother to Tony, David, & Diane, sister to Carmen Davenport, was surrounded by family when she went to her Savior on March 12, 2023. Eloise is preceded in death by her son David, her parents, and her siblings: Samuel, Lydia, Ruben, Cesar and Eliab Mendoza.
Eloise was born on January 11, 1934, in La Puente, CA. to Nabor and Manuela Mendoza. She was one of 6 children who eventually moved to Moorpark, CA and then to Fillmore, CA where she graduated from high school. While in Fillmore, Eloise met “Tony” Guerrero and they were happily married for 71 years. Eloise and Tony lived in San Francisco where their children were born; they then moved to Camarillo in 1963 to raise their children. Eloise felt very blessed to be able to enjoy her 7 Grandchildren: Tony “Scooter” Guerrero, Matthew Guerrero, Keith Colletti, Sean Colletti, Victor Guerrero, Joey Guerrero, and Janell Flores plus her 15 Great Grandchildren.
Eloise worked as a civilian for the US Navy at Point Magu Naval Air Station for 31 years. She loved and honored the word of God; she prayed daily for all her family and friends. Eloise was very active in her faith at Church of the Nazarene and cherished her church friends. She enjoyed hymns and gospel music which could be heard throughout her house.
Eloise cared for her parents and In-Laws plus her Aunt Lupe Sandoval during their senior years. She was close to her In-laws, her nieces, and nephews with whom she made sure to keep in contact.
Eloise’s home was filled with several Bibles which contained various study notes as she daily prayed for her family and friends.
The family appreciates your encouraging messages, support, and condolences.
