It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Randy Lanouette on August 18, 2023 at the age of 73. He was a loving, kind, and devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, cousin, in-law, uncle, friend, and doggy daddy.
He was born on August 23, 1949 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, where he lived and played on his family farm in his early years. His family moved to California where he spent the rest of his lifetime. He graduated from Hueneme High School and attended some college. He grew up to be a hardworking, wise, and responsible man. He faced life’s challenges with courage and determination.
After his first marriage, he became a single Dad to his beloved son, Robert, whom he raised with love and devotion. Their bond was unbreakable.
Randy married the love of his life, Patti Lanouette, in 1994 and together they shared 29 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Randy had a successful career in the air conditioning and refrigeration wholesale business, working as a Manager at Ferguson HVAC Supply, Air Cold, and Bell Industries for over 40 years. His dedication and expertise in the field made him highly regarded among his colleagues.
Outside of work, Randy had a passion for sports. He spent many years coaching baseball and soccer, sharing his knowledge and inspiring young people. He coached soccer at Camarillo High School for several years. He spent countless hours volunteering as a AYSO soccer referee contributing his expertise to various sports events over the years. His fair judgement and sportsmanship were admired by many in the sports community.
He enjoyed many years of being on adult softball leagues and bowling leagues with friends and family. In the 1990’s Randy took up golf and loved it ever since. He so enjoyed spending time on the course with his family, golf buddies and “Dirty Birds” golf group.
After his retirement in 2015, he enjoyed traveling and exploring new places with his family. He loved his yearly trips to Palm Springs & Avila Beach (golf heaven). He enjoyed volunteering with the AT&T Pioneers. And most of all, he loved to spend time with Rob and the grandkids, sharing stories, playing and joking around, coaching and cheering on their sports activities, spoiling them and creating loving, lasting memories.
Throughout his life, Randy embodied the values of hard work, perseverance, and love for family. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Patti Lanouette, his loving son Robert Lanouette, his grandchildren – Diego, Drew, Grace, and Sam, and his brother, Ronald Lanouette. He was preceded in death by his mother, Etta Lanouette, his father, Raymond Lanouette, His brother Lionel “Craig” Lanouette, and his sister Linda Steinmetz. May he rest in peace, knowing that his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
