"Jeannie" Geneva Mae Wood

Jeannie Wood died May 2, 2022, after a short illness.  She was born in Abilene, Texas, to Major and Myrtie Harwell on August 17, 1935. 

Jeannie grew up on a farm picking cotton as a child.  She married at the young age of 16 to her first husband.  Jeannie lived in San Antonio where her first child was born and then in Japan where her second child was born.  While in Japan she worked as a photographer.  When she moved back to the states in 1958, she worked in a meat packing house before moving to California where she became a meat wrapper for Vons Grocery Stores for the next 35 years.  In addition to her full-time job, she sold Avon for 27 years and was an amazing seamstress for her many friends and family.  She married Leo Wood in 1968 and they welcomed their son, Jeff, in 1969.

Jeannie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leo; daughters Brenda (Dave) and Becky (Rick); grandchildren Jennifer (Randall), Stephanie (Manny), Paul (Lara) and Danielle (Marco); great-grandchildren, Madison, Jack, Emma, Sophia and Ella; sister, Norma Babs.  She will also be greatly missed by the entire Jarnberg family.  She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff, and many brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held May 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo, California.
