George P. Rote, 91, of Thousand Oaks, California, passed November 09, 2018. 

George was born to Harry F. Rote and Alice Parthemore Rote, September 20, 1927, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from John Harris High School in Harrisburg. He attended Temple University in Philadelphia for one year before enlisting in the US Army and serving in Tokyo, Japan. He then went on and graduated from West Chester State College in 1951 and received a Bachelor of Science in Education. He married Joanne Devitt in 1953, and they lived in Thousand Oaks, California. Together, they raised six children.

He leaves as his legacy six children: Mark Rote and Maria, Steve Rote and Renee, Mike Rote and Anne, Tom Rote and Debi, Joanne Rote Perow and Kevin, Sue Rote Sandoval and Steven, along with ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sister Christine Cassel. His wife and children remember him as a loving husband of 65 years, a loving father, and the most honorable man of integrity.

He was preceded in death by Harry F. Rote Jr., his brother.

George served as a Special Agent in the FBI, and head of corporate security at Hughes Aircraft until he retired in 1989. George was passionate about sports and coaching, encouraging the most positive change in young men that he coached in college football and Little League Baseball. He was honored with induction to the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2013 for his collegiate athletic career.

A burial is scheduled for Friday, December 7, 2018, at 1pm at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, CA. A Celebration of Life and reception will follow on Saturday, December 8 at Westlake Yacht Club - 32123 Lindero Canyon Rd, Westlake Village, CA 91361 from 11am to 2pm.
