Jay Willis Hembree

Jay Willis Hembree, 88, of Camarillo, California, left our physical world for a place of eternal rest and peace on November 11, 2022.   

Jay Willis was born March 30, 1934 in Bridgeport, Alabama, the son of the late Nannie and Bruce Hembree. He was the fifth and last survivor of six siblings.

Jay Willis attended High School in Alabama. He protected this country during the Korean War serving the US Army. After his discharge, he eventually settled in Camarillo, CA and was employed by Litton Industries DSD Division/Northrop Grumman as a Manufacturing Engineer for 20 years retiring in 1987. Jay Willis later went to work for the Ventura County School District for 19 years working in ground maintenance. He kept his retirement life active by enjoying gardening and donating his time as a handyman for friends and family.  

Jay Willis is survived by his Daughter Lori Hembree-Mike of West Hills CA, Son and Daughter in-law Loyd and Sharon Hembree of Camarillo, CA, Daughter and Son in-law Mary Hembree-Grady and Timothy Grady of Woodstock, GA and Eight Grandchildren.  

The service will be on Saturday December 3, 2022 at 1pmat the Conejo Mountain Funeral Home in Camarillo, CA. A Celebration of Life will follow the service at the same location.
