Larry was born on December 11, 1951 to Mahlon and Fern Moe in Shakopee, MN. Larry was the second of four children. He was raised and educated in Fridley, MN where he was on the wrestling and swim teams and in the choir.  Larry attended college at St. Cloud University in Minnesota, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Music Education.

Larry made his choice to serve God in November of 1961 in gospel services held by Mildred Wahlin and Florence Bullock.  He honored and prioritized that choice throughout his life.

Larry moved to Camarillo, CA in 1973 to begin his first post-college job at Deluxe Check Printers.  He met Jan Angelbeck at a Lynwood gospel service in December 1973.  They were married on August 3, 1974 in San Bernardino. It would have been their 45th wedding anniversary this year.  They welcomed the birth of Julie in 1978 and Eric in 1980.  They moved to Newbury Park in 1984, where they remained until moving to Ventura in August 2018.  He loved the views and wildlife out the windows as he read his Bible.

Larry worked with defense contracting companies (primarily the Navy) for 26 years, retiring in August 2015.  He was known both personally and professionally for his positivity and wisdom.  Larry truly cared about his employees and believed that by empowering them, the whole team would be successful.

After retirement, he and Jan enjoyed traveling, most recently taking a cruise to Australia and New Zealand.  A highlight for Larry on these travels was meeting with ministers and friends in each of the locations they visited.

Larry entered into rest on February 8, 2019 at Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, CA, surrounded by family and friends.  He greatly appreciated every one that came to visit him and had a personal word of loving encouragement for each.

Larry leaves behind his wife, Jan of Ventura, CA , daughter Julie of Newbury Park, CA, son Eric (Nicole) of Olympia, WA and grandchildren Emilyn and Kason as well as siblings, Viv (Bob) Hansen of Eagle Bend, MN, Audrey (Wayne) Ekman of Pea Ridge, AR and Diane Moe of Pea Ridge, AR and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Larry will be missed for his kind heart, great advice, big hugs, twinkly eyes, mischievous grin, beautiful bass voice, silly jokes, well-stocked candy jar and his affinity for Costco.  He loved helping people, and those of us who felt his generosity and love will miss him deeply.
