Margaret Elias (Chavez)

March 20, 1934– March 29, 2021

Margaret Elias was called home to Jesus on March 29, 2021. She was born on the first day of Spring in Clemenceau, Arizona to Trinidad and Concha Chavez. Margaret was born the second of six children. After attending San Fernando High School, she went to cosmetology school eventually owning her own hair salon. In 1955, Margaret married Carlos Elias. They had three children, Carlos, Anthony, and Dolores. Margaret and Carlos went on to have ten grandchildren (Tish, PJ, Deanna, Nick, Quinn, Andrew, Annie, Jenna, Danielle and Kevin) and ten great-grandchildren (Balian, Aidan, Anneliese, Carter, Ellie, Reese, Brooks, Ashton, Pazia and Sage), with another one on the way.  As a young mother, Margaret accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  She passionately studied The Word every day of her life. In 2010, Margaret lost her cherished daughter, Dolores. Margaret and Dolores were as close as any mother and daughter could be, fellowshipping every day. In 2018, after 63 years of marriage, Margaret lost her beloved husband Carlos.

She dedicated her life to supporting her family. Love and kindness were her way of life. Margaret only had kind words to say about anyone and everyone. Margaret is remembered for her strength, grace, kindness, compassion, humor, wisdom, faith and her love. We are all blessed to have had her as in our lives. She will be dearly missed.

Strength and dignity are her clothing,
    and she laughs at the time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
    and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women have done excellently,
    but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

~ Proverbs 31:25-30 ~
