Mary A. Lopez

Mary Ann “Mary” Lopez, formerly of Camarillo, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, in Thousand Oaks at the age of 61. She was born on June 4, 1959, in Santa Paula, CA to George and Ofelia Moreno.

Mary is survived by her three children: Roseann Rosenwirth and husband Daryll of San Antonio, TX, Jimmy Lopez and wife Joanna of Simi Valley, and Jessica Lopez of Moorpark; seven grandchildren: Anthony Guttierrez, Samantha Lopez, Linna Hernandez, Santana Lopez, Ray Munoz, Rayleen Munoz and Savanna Lopez; two brothers: George Moreno and wife Kelly of Thousand Oaks, and Steven Moreno and wife Rosalind of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Lisa Goodwin of Ventura and Leticia Estoppey and husband Jeff of Camarillo; a brother-in-law, Darren Goodwin of Ventura; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Mary graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School in 1977. After graduating, she attended Sawyer Secretarial College in Oxnard. Mary worked at the Ventura County Council of the Boys Scouts of America as an Executive Assistant for 26 years before retiring in 2005. She found her greatest fulfillment in life as a mother, grandmother, and sister. 

Mary bravely battled the progression of multiple sclerosis for the last 25 years of her life, continuing to be active for as long as she was physically able. Her family would like to thank Windsor Terrace of Westlake Village and TLC Hospice for the care they provided over the past several years.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, George and Ofelia Moreno, and a son-in-law, Daniel Diaz.

A celebration of Mary’s life is planned for Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of the Hills in Conejo Mountain Memorial Park at 2052 Howard Road in Camarillo. Per California guidelines masks and social distancing requirement apply.
