Max L. FreifieldOctober 9, 1932 ~ January 3, 2018 (age 85)
Max L. Freifield, Professor Emeritus at Cerritos College, died on January 3rd after a long illness. Max was preceded in death by his first wife, Louis, and is survived by one son, Josh. He was born in Ohio and migrated to Tucson, Arizona for his college education. He graduated University of Arizona in 1956 with a Bachelor's Degree in English, and later a Master's Degree from Arizona State. He was a lifelong Wildcat supporter and one of the founding members of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Jewish social fraternity which is still in existence today. He became a history teacher and eventually started and coached the debate team which won national awards. Max went to Cerritos College and started their award winning debate team and still continued coaching after retirement. Max was an extraordinary educator, beloved by students, and maintained their lifelong friendships. He was a strong family man, a gentle person, and a wonderful listener. He was 85 years old.
Graveside service to be held at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo, CA 93012 on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 12:00 Noon.
