Husband, Dad, Papa, Friend to all he met.

Richard T. Hall, 76, fell gently to sleep and woke up in Heaven on January 29, 2018.

Richard was born in Long Branch, New Jersey. He joined the US Air Force at 18, and was stationed in Texas, where he met the love of his life, Lometa Wiley. They married in 1963.

After he was discharged, they lived in New Jersey, and then moved to California. Richard worked for Mattel Toy Makers, before embarking on a 30 year career with Sunkist Growers. He retired in 2003. In 2016, Richard and Lometa built a home with their daughter, son in law, and grandson. It was a tremendous blessing to all to have that time forming a home together before Richard’s heavenly homecoming.

Richard wrote, “I have everything I need. Like it says in the Serenity Prayer, ‘So that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next.’ I now can see how Jesus has been looking over me all these years.”

In January 2011 Richard was diagnosed with inoperable Stage 4 Lung Cancer, and was told he would likely live only 7-9 more months. He was gifted with 7 more years. About these blessed 7 years, Richard said, “My life showed the power of God and prayer.”

Richard was dedicated, hard-working, funny, always positive, hope-filled, funny and a friend to all. He is already missed deeply by those he left behind, including his wife of 54 years, Lometa Hall; his son, Rich Hall; his daughter, Amanda Severyn, and her husband, Danny Severyn; and his grandchildren: Brandon Hall, Rebecca Hall, and Wiley Severyn.

A Celebration of Richard’s Life will take place on Sunday, March 25th, 2018, at 3:00pm in the main auditorium at The Church at Rocky Peak 22601 Santa Susana Pass Rd Chatsworth CA 91311 (818)709-0113. Air Force Honors to follow the service. Online Condolences may be left at www.ConejoMountain.com.
