Raymond M. Ordaz, 92, of Camarillo completed his journey here and entered the heavenly gates on January 5, 2019, with his family by his side.
He was born on August 21, 1926, in Camarillo to Serafln and Juanita Ordaz. Always the family comedian, he never lost his sense of humor or his quick wittiness. If he wasn't making you laugh, he was definitely telling you one of his many stories, which he loved to share. He served his country in the US. Army from 1945 to 1947, after which he became a truck driver at Point Mugu Naval Base for 30 years. But his proudest achievement was being a great provider for his family until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Jennie, sister, Frances M. Babington, brother, Frank Ordaz and sister, Judy Esparza. He is survived by his daughter Virginia Gutierrez; daughter Vivian Roman and son-ln-law Raul Roman, daughter Rachel Benavides and son-In-law Jerry Benavides. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Chris Gutierrez, Annette Vasquez, Yvonne Walker, Raymond Ruiz and his spouse, Michelle, Raul Roman Jr and his fiancée, Michelle Torrez, Stephanie Garcia and her spouse, Victor and Jerry Benavides Jr.; great-grandchildren, Arthur Vasquez and his spouse, Sonia, Anthony Vasquez and his spouse Natalia, Veronica Lopez and her spouse, Mark, Andy Vasquez and his spouse Reyna, Keith Vasquez and his spouse Lupe, Martin Villegas, Valerie Mendez and her spouse, Edwardo, Denise Vasquez and her flancée Hugo Lopez, Marcus Walker, Monica Walker, Malissa Vasquez, Isaac Roman, Samantha Barraza, Jacob Ruiz, Victor Garcia Jr., Sophia Benavides, Evan Garcia, Xavier Roman and Jordan Ruiz; great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Vasquez, Jalisa Vasquez, Lyann Vasquez, Raymond De La Virgen, Rayleen De La Virgen, Joaquin Lopez, A.J. Vasquez, Branden Lopez, Ciarrah Vasquez, Mark Lopez Jr , Noah Lopez, Maliah Mendez, Arianah Lopez, Adam Vasquez, Zeek Vasquez and Alayna Vasquez and many nieces, nephews and godchlldren.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm. to 6 p m. Thursday Jan. 17, at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, 2052 Howard Rd, Camarillo. A vigil rite service with recitation of the rosary will follow at 6 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday Jan. 18 at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel, 2532 Ventura Blvd , Camarillo. Interment will be held at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park.
