Richard V. Harmon

February 6, 1945 ~ January 1, 2018 (age 72) 72 Years Old

On January 1st, 2018, Richard V. Harmon, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Thousand Oaks.

Richard was an aerospace industry manager for over 40 years.  He was born on February 6, 1945 in Yakima, Washington.  He was the oldest of three sons to Vernon C. Harmon and Margaret Sue Harmon. However, Richard was raised by his father and Vernon's second wife, Catherine Harmon.

Just after entering the U.S. Navy, Richard married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Dolores Harmon.  Richard served his country overseas in Vietnam. Following his active duty in the Navy and while attending college, Richard began a career in 1967 in what was then a new area of computing and data processing in the aerospace industry. After graduating from the University of Southern California in 1974 with his BS degree, he took on increased responsibilities and managed several groups in computer and government security areas and eventually retired in 2011.  He and Dolores along with their two daughters, Sara and Trisha, moved to Cerritos, California where they lived for many years before moving to Thousand Oaks, California in 1988.

Richard loved life - particularly family holidays, deep sea fishing and USC Football.   He especially cherished his time with his best friend and wife, Dolores, their two daughters, and their two grandchildren.  He is survived by his wife, best known as Dee, his daughters, Sara and Trisha, his grandchildren, Athena Walls and Zachary O'Conlon, his brothers, John and Roy Harmon, as well as his several loving nieces and nephews along with their wonderful children.
