Robert Louis Kaptain

August 9, 1946 ~ January 6, 2022 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Tribute

On January 6, 2022 loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at his home in Camarillo, CA from natural causes and went home to be with his Lord.

Bob was born on August 9, 1946 in Elgin, IL to Louis and Ruth Kaptain. Growing up in Denver, CO, he graduated from East High School in 1964.  Robert served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He had a long career in the electronics field with Zenith and other companies in Colorado, until his retirement to Camarillo, CA.

A lover of life, Bob made friends easily and shared his love for solar gadgets with everyone. He loved traveling, camping, sailing, photography, and was an avid football fan. He wanted all his family and friends to know he lived a very happy and exciting life and to remember him with joyful memories. The moment that changed his perspective on life was the birth of his only daughter, Krystal.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Paulette Kaptain, daughter Krystal (Ryan) of Morrison, CO, granddaughter Kira, brother Charles (Carol) of Florida and sister Lynda (Paul) of Arizona, and many nieces and nephews. Everyone who knew him loved him dearly.

A celebration of life well lived will take place in Colorado at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV): https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=DChcSEwjO9eP4k6_1AhVIIUwKHQX6CtUYABAAGgJvYQ&sig=AOD64_2Lz8fMoxLd8qPaEEpnHlWhfPEsEA&q&adurl&ved=2ahUKEwiC89b4k6_1AhWYkGoFHULtCYsQ0Qx6BAgDEAE.

- A Life Well Lived -

A life well lived is a precious gift,
of hope and strength and grace,
from someone who has made our world
a brighter, better place.

It's filled with moments, sweet and sad
with smiles and sometimes tears,
with friendships formed and good times shared,
and laughter through the years.

A life well lived is a legacy,
of joy and pride and pleasure,
a living, lasting memory
our grateful heart's will treasure.
