Roy L. Nichols was born March 26, 1930 in Drews Creek, West Virginia to a coal miner, Roy Ernest Nichols and his wife, Nellie. Roy was a devoted husband of 45 years to Eileen Taylor, as well as a father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. 

A veteran of three wars, Roy served 26 years of military service. He served in the Army during World War II as well as in the Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was very active within the American Legion, holding the offices of Commander, Vice Commander, Sergeant of Arms and was in the 40 and Eight.

Roy was an avid animal lover and he also loved to dance. He was a man known for his integrity, honesty and generosity. Roy will be missed but never forgotten by everyone he knew. He is survived by Mr. and Mrs. Jody Nichols, Stephen Polis, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Joel Hernandez, Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Hofteig, Philip Todd, Belva Lauvray, Marlene Flores and seven great grandchildren.

A Viewing will be held on Thurs., Dec. 7th from 6pm – 8pm at the Chapel of the Hills at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home in Camarillo, California. A Funeral Service will be held on Fri., Dec. 8th at 1:30pm at the same chapel, with burial to follow at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park.
