Theodore J. England, longtime Ventura County attorney and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, dog lover and softball player, passed away on December 9, 2018 following a brief illness, surrounded by his family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1942, Ted attended Oxnard High School and went on to receive his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law. He was an attorney in Ventura County for 51 years, the last 17 of those with Ferguson Case Orr Paterson in Ventura. Ted also co-founded the Tequila All-Stars softball team in the 1980s, who proudly won the Men's 55 AA National Championship in 2007. Ted’s generosity and unfussy intelligence were well known among the clients he served and the friends and family who loved him deeply. He touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed.
Ted is survived by wife, Annette Okamura; stepdaughters, Kim Okamura (husband, Steve Krekelberg) and Melanie Okamura (husband, Josh Scherr); granddaughters, Aya and Ruby; and siblings, Robert England (wife, Sandy) and Richard England (wife, Lynne).
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 1pm at the Museum of Ventura County in Ventura.
