Virginia "Ginny" Havicon

Virginia Florence Havicon, (Ginny), was born  September 9, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvannia, Her father, Milton Loehr was 21 and her mother, Mildred Heltman was 22.  She had three brothers and one sister. She married Herbert Sundin in 1949 and bore a son, Robert Havicon.  She married John Wilbert Havicon, (Jack), in 1954 and was married for 63 years, until his death in 2017. She had three additional children Lynn Poole-Havicon, John Havicon and Richard Havicon.  She had 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ginny and Jack moved to various places in the U.S. as a navy family for 10 years. They settled in Camarillo, California. They lived in Camarillo for 48 years before deciding to move to their son, John’s farm, in Placerville, California, to live out the rest of their days.

She was a devoted to her Christian faith and played a very active role in church, Women’s Aglow and her church food bank. She was known as the “Cookie Lady” and rarely missed a Sunday serving her delicious cookies after each church service.

Her greatest joy was her great-grandchildren and she would light up every time they visited.
