Fred, you will always be one of my favorites. I will miss your sense of humor, our banter, your irascible attitude, and your big old heart. I am glad you are no longer suffering, and I am sorry I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye before you left for the afterlife. I will never forget you and you will remain in my heart always.

I first met Fred about 25 years ago when I was a bartender at the Gold Street in Camarillo. He and his wife Patty had just moved here from Arizona. I remember the first day we met. We hit if off fabulously and they immediately became regulars who I was happy to see every time they walked through the door. We’ve seen each other through some of the best and worse times of our lives: break-ups, going off to college, kids growing up, grandkids, getting older, etc. We have always kept up with each other and would make a point to sit together for a drink or a cup of coffee whenever we could. Fred’s nickname for me was “Tie-Dye.” I miss you already my friend. I love you Fred.

Thank you for giving me the honor of serving your family at such a sensitive time in your lives. It is clear, from what you've shared with me, that Fred is a loved man and will most certainly be missed by family, friends and his bar stool buddies. I pray the way you've chosen to celebrate his memory brings you a sense of peace.
