Wilfred V. Esquivel, age 66, of Camarillo, CA passed away on December 20th 2017. He was surrounded by his wife, kids and grandchildren.

Fred was born in Michoacan, Mexico but had been a resident of Ventura County for 47 years. He achieved US Citizenship with hard work and determination and found success in the roofing business, owning Esquivel’s Roofing for 30 years. He treated his customers with fair, friendly and prideful craftsmanship. Proud, respectful and generous to his employees and business supporters, he had too many friends to list and touched so many throughout his life.

Fred loved to travel, fish, go RV’ing with “The Village,” BBQ, entertain friends and family and attend concerts and casinos. He was very funny, lucky, feisty, quick-witted, a practical joker, people-oriented, friendly and very generous. He enjoyed Cuban cigars, a cold Miller Light, glass of red wine and an occasional Scotch night cap. Every year, he played “Santa Clause” by donating to Toys for Tots, the American Heart Association or delivering food platters to the various city offices in Ventura County. 

Fred is survived by his wife, Susan M. Esquivel of 46+ years; four children, Carol, Rick, Anthony and Valerie; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

We will celebrate Fred’s life on his 67th birthday on Thursday, December 28th at 1:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge at 801 South A Street, Oxnard, California, as he would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, we ask you please donate to the American Heart Association.
