Marion Genevieve Sanders peacefully passed away on Apr. 26, 2017 at Evening Grace in Northridge, CA.

Marion was born at home in Oak Harbor, OH on Jan. 3, 1921 to Fred and Clara Kaiser. She grew up in Toledo, OH and graduated from Waite High School in 1939. She obtained additional training and worked as a legal secretary before meeting the love of her life, Willis Sanders, and marrying him on Sept. 6, 1941.

When war was declared, Willis joined the Navy and was stationed part of the time in Corona, CA at a naval hospital. Marion was with him every step of the way. This is the reason for their love of California.

While Willis was stationed over seas, Marion returned to Toledo and lived with her parents as she was expecting the arrival of their first daughter, Diana, born in 1944. After the war, Willis was hired by the DeVilbiss Co. They moved to West Los Angeles in 1947, before another daughter, Cindy, was born in 1951. Marion was devoted to her family. She was often alone, raising two little girls, as Willis frequently traveled the seven West Coast states for his job.

They moved back to Ohio in 1966, as Willis was promoted to National Sales Manager, but they always longed to return to their beloved California.

Upon retirement, in 1983, they returned to California to enjoy their golden years in Leisure Village, Camarillo. They joined Mount Cross Lutheran Church and became very active members. Marion also loved to play bridge, took up golf and joined different clubs within the Leisure Village community.

She was a loving, caring and generous person who was devoted to her family and friends.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Norman; and her husband of 66 years, Willis.

She leaves a loving family: daughters, Diana (Douglas) Warneke of Chatsworth, CA and

Cindy (Timothy) Fate of Lambertville, MI; grandchildren, Tina Santoro, Christopher (Laura) and Kenneth (Billy) Eff; great grandchildren, Justin (Eunice) Milligan and Austin and Alexis Eff; step-grandson, Dustin (Adrian) Fate; and step-great grandchildren, Michael and Maggie Fate as well as the families of Ben Juarez and Tim Fate Jr.
