Nicholas Richard Miller January 31, 1992
– April 11, 2017 Nicholas Richard Miller
was born in Camarillo, California to
Katherine Gregory Miller of Lynwood,
California, and Richard James Miller of
Euclid, Ohio. Nick was preceded in death
by his maternal grandfather, Judson L.
Gregory of Binger, Oklahoma and his
paternal grandfather, Richard A. Miller,
M.D. We will always remember Nick for
his infectious laugh and caring
personality. He was very social, always
smiling and a good-natured jokester. Nick
was kind-hearted and would lend a
helping hand to anyone in need. He has
leaned on his best friends, Nate Ostertag,
Zac Achles, and Gary Esquivel, for
support throughout his journey. He had
just finished working at the Taos, New
Mexico Ski Resort and was on his way
back to Camarillo. He climbed up to the
top of Kachina Peak which is the second
steepest slope in North America and then
skied back down the mountain. He loved
being in the outdoors and working with
people. Nicholas loved outdoor activities
including fishing, hiking, camping,
backpacking, floating down rivers and,
most recently, skiing. As a Freshman he
played football and tennis for St.
Bonaventura in Ventura. He graduated
from Newberry Park High School in 2010.
He was active in Cub Scout Pack 3804
and Boy Scout Troop 858. He gained
professional satisfaction working with
teens and young adults in the wilderness.
He was a supportive mentor and thrived
on helping others. He was an avid animal
lover and will be leaving his dog Daisy
